SHOWDOWN: Time Warner vs. CBS

At 5pm on Friday, after failed fee negotiations, Time Warner Cable cut off access to CBS, the most-watched network on television.  Showtime, a premium channel owned by CBS, was also blacked out -- even though many customers pay an additional $14/month for it.

Today we ventured into Union Square to see how New Yorkers felt about this development.  The results were unanimous.  Take a look:

The people have spoken, and they're dissatisfied with being punished for TWC's and CBS' inability to work out a contract.  They're also frustrated by their inability to switch to another cable provider.  With CBS losing a reported $400,000 per day during the blackout and customers everywhere angered by TWC's actions, this is truly a conflict in which nobody wins.

If you have Time Warner and want them to reinstate the services you pay for, call 1-888-TW-CABLE.
