Broadway’s Benjamin Eakeley, currently starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's She Loves Me, treats audiences to a gorgeous, flawless evening of musical theatre classics at Feinstein's/54 Below in his encore Broadway Swinger concert. Co-written by Tim Murray, this concert combines historical context with humor and fantasy with songs from iconic classics such as Funny Girl, Sweet Charity, Hair, and more.

A gifted storyteller, Eakeley takes guests on a journey through “Love on Broadway” during the 1960s, as younger generations were breaking away from more conservative ideals and were longing to celebrate their individuality and sexual freedom. He keeps audience members laughing as he describes the change in attitude from a buttoned-up view of love and sex in the early part of the decade to the sexual revolution of the later '60s.

It doesn’t take long for the entire room to fall for Eakeley’s charm, wit, and divine voice as he seamlessly moves through a well-chosen song list that includes favorites such as “Who Are You Now?” (Funny Girl, 1964), “Take Me to the World” (Evening Primrose, 1966), and “Why Should I Wake Up?” (Cabaret, 1966), among many fabulous others. Joined onstage by an extremely talented jazz band, consisting of piano (James Olmstead), bass (Matthew Rybicki), drums (Zachary Eldridge), and alto sax/flute/clarinet (John De Simini), and under JV Mercanti’s direction with James Olmstead serving as music director, he creates melodies that are soft, soothing, and dreamlike.

Don't miss the chance to sit back, relax, and absorb the gems of the 1960s; Broadway Swinger leaves audiences demanding more of Eakeley and his jazz band’s musical bliss.
