Spend Christmas with Zack, Screech and the Gang of 'Bayside! The Musical!'

baysideTobly McSmith, Co-Writer, Director and Producer of Bayside! The Musical! (And Showgirls! The Musical) took some time out of his busy schedule (decorating the homeless like Christmas trees) to answer some questions we had about the show's Christmas special, appropriately titled A Very Bayside Christmas and featuring special guest star Ed Alonzo!

What makes the Christmas show different? Why should people who have seen the original show up this week?

Someone stole Christmas! It's up to the students of Bayside to find out who stole Christmas and save it from impending holiday doom. Ed Alonzo will be reprising his iconic role as The Max. There's new holiday songs and holiday jokes and we've ordered about 100 pounds of mistletoe. Also, the death of Ed Alonzo. Will they save Christmas? Probably not.

What will Ed Alonzo be up to this season? Is The Max up to no good?
The Max has been super naughty this year. That's why Zack and the Gang need to save their favorite (and only) hangout, The Max, from closing. Santa will be giving Ed Alonzo multiple spankings.

What's on Screech's Christmas wishlist?
A new career.
A stolen moment with Lisa Turtle under the mistletoe.
A Fleshlight.
New MC Hammer Pants.
Eternal Redemption.

What's in Jessie's caffeine pill bottle?
Top grade, street level, pure and uncut, discontinued and highly illegal caffeine pills. We order them from Taiwan and use Screech as a drug mule to get them across the border. It's a tedious process but it's in Jessie's rider for the show.

The show's been extended 7 times already! Are things looking up for many more extensions in the future?
We are so grateful for the 15 months at Theater80 and hope for more! National Lampoon is gearing up for a road show in 2015. Possibly a trip to Hollywood for some shows. Every night is like a dream come true for us. A true Christmas miracle.

Don't miss A Very Bayside Christmas from Dec. 17-20. For tickets and more information click here.
