Choreographer Gabriela Estrada will present her solo “Not a Single Carmen More!” (Ni Una Carmen Mas!), performed by dramatic dancer Ivanka Figueroa. The solo joins a performance event entitled “Mourning Loss/Celebrating Survival” on October 5th, named a Day of Action Against Domestic Violence. Participants offer the program, free to the public, to raise awareness of the scourge of domestic violence. Other artists appearing are Vissi Dance, solo dancer Sonali Skandan, musician Jeannine Otis, and storytellers Regina Ress and Joy Kelly.
