The renowned Limon Dance Company will celebrate its 75th Anniversary Season with two weeks of live performances, two different programs, at the Joyce Theater. Under the artistic direction of Dante Puleio, the Company continues to honor its legacy through the preservation, reconstruction, and reimagining of their repertory along with commissioning new works by both emerging and acclaimed choreographers. Week 1 Program: “Chaconne” and “Psalm” by Limon, “Air for the G String” by Doris Humphrey, and the new “Only One Will Rise” by Olivier Tarpaga. Week 2 Program: “Danzas Mexicanas,” one of Limon’s earliest works, and “Waldstein Sonata,” his last work, and the premiere of “Migrant Mother” by Mexican choreographer Raul Tamez.
