TINY HORNETS invites you to experience the folk ways, mores, and lores of the village of It Didn’t Have To Come To This, a timeless place that will manifest in a secret garden in Bushwick for few weeks at the end of this summer. You will witness the folk at work and at play, dancing their authentic dances, and singing their traditional songs. You will get a chance to fondle their handicrafts, sample their cordials, and participate in their celebrations. Guided by an intrepid Ethnographer, you will meet many fascinating village types, including Essie, a young girl who longs for a taste of something more… flesh.

TINY HORNETS is a revival and reimagining of the The Drunkard’s Wife’s 2012 cult favorite musical spectacular. The Drunkard’s Wife is a no-wave mountain music band/ theater troupe whose works have been seen at the Brick Theater (Permanent Caterpillar), The New Ohio Theatre (Feather Gatherers), Uncanny Valley/chashama (Tiny Hornets 2012) and parties and bars all over New York City. Like previous shows by Drunkard’s Wife, Tiny Hornet incorporates raucous, no-wave inflected music and a generous, maximalist design sense. The world of Tiny Hornets is something like John Waters’s Desperate Living meets Sergei Parajanov’s Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors with all the terror of C.H.U.D.

TINY HORNETS features Admiral Grey, Juliana Francis Kelly, Jordan Baum, Hanlon Smith-Dorsey, Maxwell Cosmo Cramer, Alexander Paris, Blaze Ferrer, Maggie Robinson, Kristine Haruna Lee and more special guests!
