Detailed Information:

he Neighborhood Laundromat is an absurdist new comedy about three strangers inexplicably trapped inside a rundown Los Angeles laundromat after an earthquake. To get out, they must unravel their personal baggage, face generational patterns, and trust the guidance of a fruit-wielding psychic with a cryptic cosmic agenda.

Both hilarious and unexpectedly heartfelt, the play explores estrangement, inherited pain, and what it takes to start a new cycle when the old one breaks down completely. It’s about who we are when no one’s looking — except maybe the universe.

This is Gaston Leguizamon’s first full-length English-language play and his producing debut in the New York Off-Off Broadway scene, launching his production company VoxArt Lab Productions co-founded with Argentinian producer Agustina Garcia Ramirez. Originally from Buenos Aires, Gaston has written and produced numerous shows in Argentina before relocating to NYC, where he completed the two-year conservatory program at the William Esper Studio. His play was officially selected as part of the 2025 Summer Season of the New York Theater Festival.

Direction by Edward Gibbons-Brown, Theater-maker and director behind Frigid Nightcap at Under St. Marks, with directing credits including Coriolanus, Over My Dead Body, Miracle on 34th Street, and the upcoming On The Radio at The Chain Theater.
