Loretta Thomas’ Moving Visions celebrates International Women’s Day (March 8th) with an all-female production entitled “The Widening Gyre,” March 6-8 at the Mark O’Donnell Theater in Brooklyn. The program includes two World Premieres by Thomas, and a suite of dances by Isadora Duncan, featuring guest artist Catherine Gallant. Pianist Nathaniel LaNasa will play live the Chopin and Scriabin works for the Duncan dances. Receiving its World Premieres are “The Widening Gyre,” Thomas’ reflection of the sad state of conflict in our country right now; and “Stomping Ground,” a joyous celebration using country dances as inspiration.
