Digging in Group (D.I.G): Artist Residency at Green Space – Applicants due August 11th!

D.I.G. provides 8 choreographers with an excellent opportunity to develop and share new work together during 8 work sessions, 2 personal & professional development workshops, ending in TWO culminating performances, and a post-residency recap session.

D.I.G. is about deepening our creative process while building relationships with fellow NYC choreographers and dancers. Each session will be moderated by a rotating member of the Green Space Advisory Board. During these sessions choreographers will present their work at various stages to their cohort, followed by a moderated peer discussion, enabling choreographers to receive informative feedback in a supportive environment.

D.I.G culminating performances will be May 13 – 16th, 2027 (Thursday – Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 7pm). Each choreographer’s work will be performed at two performances (Program A – Thurs./Sat. and Program B – Fri./Sun).
Performances will be produced with full production values including publicity, marketing support, programs, lighting, sound system, box office, house management.
Each choreographer will receive video of one performance night of their work, as well as a selection of performance photos.
Each member of the D.I.G. Cohort will receive 20 hours of rehearsal space at Green Space at $9/hour, after the 20 hours are fulfilled, choreographers are able to rent space at the rate of $10/hr.

Each choreographer will receive an artist’s stipend of $500.

Artists must be located within New York City’s five boroughs to be considered. No out-of-town artists will be selected to participate in the series.

Green Space provides an inclusive environment; this opportunity is open to new/emerging or established choreographers, and all dance genres, ALL are encouraged to participate.
