A Midnight Trek Through a Changing City: A Soliloquy Exploring Grief, Growth, and Existential Belonging

NEW YORK, NY — What happens to a man when the city he loves evolves past the point of recognition? The American Theatre of Actors invites audiences on an intimate, nocturnal journey through the shifting streets of New York in 4 to 7: A Soliloquy, a captivating new play written by Emmanuel Martin Di Feliciantonio and directed by the visionary Rommell Sermons.

Running for a gripping 75 minutes, this evocative production transforms a simple late-night commute into a profound, soul-stirring exploration of identity, memory, and the bittersweet nature of time.

The Journey From Twilight to Dawn
4 to 7 follows Lionel Fantom (portrayed by Kevin Leonard), a lone DJ who has just wrapped up a gig at an underground night-spot on Manhattan’s upscale Park Avenue. Over the course of three pivotal hours—from 4:00 AM to 7:00 AM—Lionel embarks on a solitary trek back to his home in Ocean Hill, Brooklyn.

As twilight slowly gives way to morning, the audience is invited to walk alongside Lionel as he laments a lost city, a faded love, and a rapidly changing urban landscape. More than just a physical walk, the production serves as a psychological map, inviting theatergoers to watch a man rediscover the making of his pathos through an existential crucible.

“Journey with Lionel as he rediscovers the making of his pathos through his existential walk.”
A Stellar Creative Ensemble

To bring the vivid, atmospheric world of New York’s pre-dawn hours to life, director Rommell Sermons has assembled a powerhouse creative and technical team:

Lighting Design: Christine Davis
Sound Design: Liam Riordan
Wardrobe: Everett Clark
Assistant Stage Managers: Cidney Hawkins & Bilal Walker
Technical Advisor: Issac Winston
Actor/Crew Ensemble: Krystian Saxbie & Sebastian Areta

Together, the team seamlessly blends haunting soundscapes and stark, evocative lighting to mimic the transitioning New York skyline, trapping the audience in the beautiful, eerie limbo between yesterday and tomorrow.
