A Celebration of Aileen Passloff is announced for October 15 at 2 PM, honoring the teacher, choreographer, performer, mentor, and major figure in the early days of modern dance in NYC. Aileen’s passing, in 2020 during covid, delayed this tribute to her, organized by Charlotte Hendrickson. Performing to honor Aileen are dancers Arthur Aviles, Micaela Haran, Hendrickson, and EmmaGrace Skove-Epes. Performing musicians are Helen Avakian and Doug Schultz; and speakers include Toby Armour, Wendy Perron, Victoria Vinson-[Jacobs, and M. Mercedes Zuniga Leon. There will also be film excerpts by Marta Renzi, and footage of Aileen’s last performance in 2019.
