Comedian, storyteller and hoop-dancer Mimi Fischer (from The Chris Gethard Show & Broad City) is 64 years young and announcing her first solo show: A Late Bloomer. The show’s title is a nod to her starting her career in comedy at an age that most think should relegate her to knitting… but she doesn’t do that. Mimi’s show will focus on how her unique journey into hoop-dancing and comedy created her new life. In her solo show, she jokes about the difference between age and maturity and and the positive side of aging (is there one? Find out!). She discusses the challenges of being in a peer group with mostly all 20-something-year-olds when you’re defined as “elderly” by the dictionary but definitely don’t feel that way. Mimi’s show is November 17th at 6pm as a part of SoloCom, the Peoples Improv Theater’s annual solo show festival.
