Over 5 decades and counting, the Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company, under the direction of Enrique Cruz DeJesus since 1998, pauses to reflect. This concert season will see the world premiere of DeJesus’ Exhibition, set to music by Astor Piazzolla and Daniel Binelli, played by guest Uruguayan concert pianist Polly Ferman, along with three classic works by Eleo Pomare. Alpha Omega with perform Pomare’s 1967 “Las Desenamoradas,” set to music by John Coltrane and based on Lorca’s House of Bernarda Alba; his 1996 Radeau (Raft) a picture of Haitians caught in a stormy sea that stands between their lives left behind and hoped-for lives ahead; and the 1964 Hex, To affect as by an evil spell.
