Detailed Information:

ARE Opera opens its second season with a bang! After a triumphant first season featuring Rossini’s La Cenerentola, ARE Opera continues the comedy with Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi . Join this hilarious cast of greedy socialites, scheming tricksters, and sighing ingénues in a show you’ll never forget. The opera will be performed in its original language at the Kraine Theater in the lower east side beginning November
16th and will run through November 19th. Baritone Patrick McNally shines as the title character with Mezzo-Soprano Allison Gish and Baritone Timothy Madden as Simone leading the pack of greedy family members. The sweet and maybe not so innocent Lauretta is double cast between sopranos Rachel Policar and Jana McIntyre who fall madly in love with charming tenor Eamon Pereyra as Rinuccio. The family also includes Mezzo-Soprano Alanna Fraize as La Ciesca, Soprano Helaine Liebman and Nella, Tenor Drew Seigla as Gherardo, Bass Brett Vogel as Betto, and Baritone Jay Lucas Chacon as Marco. They round out the crew with Alexander Sheerin as Spinelloccio, Drew O’Shanick as the Notary, Steven Ralph as Pinellino, Nathanael Taylor as Guccio and Zoe Cooperman as Ghererdina.

The show will once again be creating an immersive and interactive atmosphere as audience members are transported into a luxury apartment complete with New York City skyline views. Director Jessica Harika brings impeccable vision and timing into this comedic opera. Pianist Andrew Sun effortlessly weaves his way through Puccini’s “Sprechstimme-like” score under the direction of Music Director and
Maestro Jonathan Heaney. The show will feature four performances: May 16th through 18th at 8pm and a 3pm matinee no Sunday the 19th. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door and is appropriate for all audiences.
