Alessandra Belloni, John La Barbera, and I Giullari di Piazza present “Drums & Songs of Illumination,” a multi-cultural winter solstice celebration featuring songs, tarantellas, magic rituals, healing chants and ritual drumming from Southern Italy, India, Brazil, and the Native American culture. A remarkable group of musicians/vocalists/dancers will perform authentic music and instrumentation, bringing together the fascinating legends, traditions and musical rhythms of these cultures. Special guests are Muriel Borst of the Native American Silvercloud Singers, and Steven Gorn, Indian bansuri flute master. This special concert is inspired by the need to bring Light during the Solstice in this time of darkness, and to celebrate rebirth.
