Join New York-based Taiwanese composer Shiuan Chang for the vinyl release celebration of his debut album, ‘Earthing.’ Violinist William Wei and pianist Evan Wong will perform in the recital, “Earthing: A Dialogue on the Edge of Sane,” at Third Street Music School on the Lower East Side. Wei and Wong, both rising stars on the international competition circuit, performed on the album, which features music uniquely commissioned by a psychiatric hospital in Taiwan to help patients heal.

The performance will include the American premieres of five pieces from ‘Earthing’ alongside works from other composers that “reflect a journey of inner strength, endurance, and healing:” Takemitsu’s ‘Elegy’ and Shostakovich’s Violin Sonata, Op. 134.
