Face the Music ranges freely through a highly diverse selection of works for string quartet, jazz ensemble, and improvisation ensemble by Angelica Negrón (Triste Silencio Programmatico), John Hollenbeck (Drewslate), Snarky Puppy (Outlier), and three of the ensemble’s own members: Isai Rabiu, Jose Suarez, and Graeme Buehrer.

Puerto Rican-born composer Negrón is known for combining toy, robotic, electronic, and acoustic instruments in her idiosyncratic pieces. Hollenbeck is known for his visionary compositions for large jazz ensemble, while Snarky Puppy bring a jam-band sensibility to their funky, propulsive tunes.
