Detailed Information:

“Fruits borne out of rust,” is a multimedia dance piece conceived & directed by celebrated Japanese visual artist Tabaimo, in which intricate drawings and video installations intertwine with performance by solo dancer Chiharu Mamiya. Movement, music and stunning animations meld in this collaboration by Tabaimo and award-winning choreographer Maki Morishita, with two on-stage musicians playing an original score by Yusuke Awazu and Keisuke Tanaka. “Fruits borne out of rust” arrives at Japan Society for two performances (March 6 & 7), as part of a North American tour, produced and organized by Japan Society, that includes stops at REDCAT (North American Premiere; February 20-23), Wesleyan University (February 28-29) and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (March 3).
