Concert Description: A Journey Through Haydn’s Genius
This performance is a deeply personal tribute to Joseph Haydn, a composer whose work has profoundly shaped my understanding of musical form and expression. The program features three of his most remarkable sonatas: Hob. XVI:34, XVI:49, and XVI:52, each showcasing a unique facet of Haydn’s brilliance.
These pieces represent the pinnacle of classical piano repertoire, balancing elegance with emotional depth. Hob. XVI:34 captivates with its light-hearted charm, Hob. XVI:49 enchants with its lyrical beauty, and Hob. XVI:52, his last and most monumental piano sonata, explores the full expressive potential of the instrument.
For me, performing these works is not just about technical mastery; it’s about connecting with the essence of Haydn’s creative genius and sharing his timeless vision with the audience. Having already presented this program in Barcelona and Paris, I’m excited to bring the same energy, precision, and passion to this performance, inviting listeners on an intimate journey through the heart of the classical era.
