Hidejiro Honjoh, a brilliant young master of the shamisen (three-string Japanese banjo), joins forces with the renowned International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) in world premieres by Grammy nominee Vijay Iyer, Yu Kuwabara and Nathan Davis, plus the North American premiere of composer/guitarist Scott Johnson’s Up and Back. At 33, Hidejiro has gained international notice by pioneering new techniques and repertoire for his instrument.
