JACK Quartet joins forces with pianist Shai Wosner for a wide-ranging program of Renaissance and new music. They bring to life music by Henry Purcell and modern classics, including Ruth Crawford Seeger’s String Quartet 1931, George Benjamin’s ragtime-inspired Relativity Rag, and Wolfgang Rihm’s Interscriptum (piano quintet), alongside more recent works, including Thomas Adès’s thrilling, mind-bending Piano Quintet and Amy Williams’ cinematic Cineshapes #2. The program also features JACK Quartet violinist Christopher Otto’s Miserere, after Nathaniel Giles, the artist’s contemporary rhythmic elaboration of a 16th-century work by the English Renaissance composer.
