Lori Belilove and The Isadora Duncan Dance Company return for an encore performance at Untermyer Gardens, appearing in the exquisite outdoor Garden Amphitheater where in 1923 Samuel and Minnie Untermyer watched a performance of The Isadorables, the troupe formed by Irma Duncan. The Company will appear in the traditional Duncan repertory along with two new works: “Ode to Wild Beauty,” a suite of dances by Duncan and Belilove that celebrate the varied female archetypes; and “Tribute to Ukraine,” in which Belilove, of Ukrainian descent, has restaged Duncan’s 1924 “Varshavianka,” set to the Ukrainian National Anthem, and in tribute to the heroism, valor, and grit of the Ukrainian people.
