POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER: Modern Dance 101: Dances by Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn, regarded as The Mother and Father of American Modern Dance. A program of rarely seen early modern dances, created between 1904-26, will be performed by a stellar ensemble: PEIJU CHIEN-POTT, guest with Martha Graham Dance Company; CHRISTINE DAKIN, former artistic director and principal dancer with Martha Graham Dance Company; DAVID GLISTA, Limon Dance Company; VALENTINA KOZLOVA, former principal with Bolshoi Ballet and New York City Ballet; BRADLEY SHELVER, Metropolitan Opera Ballet; SOKOLOW THEATRE/DANCE ENSEMBLE; ADAM WEINERT, specialist in Ted Shawn’s dances for men; dancers from the LIMON INSTITUTE.
