Plays a Solo Concert of Viola Music. The concert is part of the MUSIC AT METROPOLITAN series. This ongoing series, now in its eighth season, presents a diverse collection of musicians and ensembles in Metropolitan’s intimate home, whose acoustics and size are ideally suited to chamber concerts and solo artists’ recitals.
Junah Chung’s dynamic and imaginative playing has been featured in recitals in America and internationally in venues from Korea to Iceland. He was the assistant principal violist of the Iceland Symphony and is currently the violist/violinist at The Lion King. He is a sub with American Ballet Theater and has subbed with the NY Philharmonic and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. A passionate chamber music musician, he is the founder (with his wife, the violinist Ragga Petursdottir), of the Greenburgh Chamber Players, and often appears at festivals such as The International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove, The Bright Lights Music Festival in Iceland, and Korea’s Daejon Chamber Music Festival.
