Music director/conductor Dorrit Matson will lead the New York Scandia Symphony in a program titled “Under Northern Lights,” a concert of music by Denmark’s Carl Nielsen and Emil Hartmann, and Swedish composer Hugo Alfven. Stephanie Chase is guest violinist. The 48-member New York Scandia Symphony revives and preserves the works of significant Northern European classical composers, music which might not otherwise be available to the public.
