The Bang Group’s comic, neo-vaudeville “Nut/Cracked” returns for its 16th NY season. Choreographer David Parker’s totally unpredictable choreography ranges from tap to pointe, and is inspired by competition, intoxication, greed, Chinese take-out, bubble-wrap – you name it. Musically the choreographer also takes a playful and wide-ranging approach with the traditional Tchaikovsky orchestral score along with renderings by Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller. The 21-member company will be joined by guest students from The Dalton School, Frank Sinatra H.S. for the Performing Arts, and e.g. dance. A one-hour delight for audiences of all ages. The Flea is located at 20 Thomas Street in downtown Manhattan.
