For the 11th year running, Magnet Theater will host The New York Musical Improv Festival (NYMIF) from March 12-15, 2020 at 254 W. 29th Street, ground floor (between 7th and 8th Avenues), NYC.

NYMIF is celebrated as the longest-running musical improv festival in the world, attracting musical theatergoers, improv comedy audiences and long-form musical improvisers from all around the world. This year, performers from all across the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom will take to the Magnet Theater stage for this 4-day festival.

What was once a relatively unknown form of artistic expression in the improv comedy world has now become a worldwide obsession – due in part to The New York Musical Improv Festival which boasts an impressive roster of Tony Award-winning performers to improvised cabarets, Sondheim to Hip-hop, college teams, duo and solo shows, improvised musical versions of TV genres from Law & Order to Star Trek – PLUS the cast and band from Broadway’s “Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson” and members of Freestyle Love Supreme – both of which ran on Broadway to sold-out audiences!

This year’s festival will feature performances from the internationally renowned group, Baby Wants Candy, Chicago’s Second City supergroup, Bookends, Time Out New York’s critic pick, Your Love, Our Musical and Magnet Theater’s very own team comprised of seasoned veteran performers, Premiere.
