The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition announces the 14th edition, April 8-12, with entrants from 15 countries around the world, dancing for company contracts and scholarships to dance academies. President of the distinguished jury is prima ballerina Nina Ananiashvili. Judges include company artistic directors from around the world and directors of dance academies. VKIBC has expanded to include entrants in contemporary and free style dance as well as classical ballet. Rounds will take place at NYLA, 219 W. 19th St., and the Gala Performance and announcement of winners will be held at the John Jay Theater, 524 W. 59th St. Schedule: April 8 Classical Round. April 9 Classical Finals. April 10 Contemporary Round. All events start at 1 PM and continue for approximately 6 hours. Audience members may arrive and leave as they wish, and they may leave during the event and return by showing their tickets.
