VOICES IN MY HEAD
The Deeply moving and wildly funny follow up to Corina’s first One-Woman-Show, “FEAR & ALL OF ME”, “VOICES IN MY HEAD” is a semi-autobiographical tour through the “Voices” that inhabit the Creative Mind of BILLBOARD TOP 10 Recording & Performance Artist Corina Katt Ayala.
Originally workshopped to a full house at the LYNN REDGRAVE THEATER (formerly the Bleecker Street Theatre) in New York City, “VOICES IN MY HEAD” was met with deafening cheers and a lengthy standing ovation. The audience would then stand in line for up to 2 hours to meet Corina and simply say, Thank You!
Born Nuyorican (New York Raised to Puerto Rican Parents), poor, a girl, and raised in the “Burning Bronx”, the odds were stacked against her from the beginning, but it wasn’t always what it seemed. Obsessed with performing, surrounded by the love and hardship of her parents, culture and impoverished city, little Corina would follow the “Voice” in her Head, which called her to share her talents with the world, No Matter What! It was that “Voice” which propelled her to worldwide recognition, MTV, VH1 and World Tours and to the Top of The Billboard Charts. And then, it fell apart.
A LITTLE CRAZY, A LOT FUNNY AND TRULY PROFOUND this is the story of The Rise, Fall & Triumphant Rebirth of CORINA. A Coming of Age Story exploring themes of as broad as self love, overcoming oppression, gentrification and inspiring greatness from within, “VOICES IN MY HEAD” IS A COMEDIC, MUSICAL & DRAMATIC JOY RIDE THROUGH THAT WHICH CONNECTS US ALL, BEING HUMAN.
