BroadwayCon Returns for 3-Day Celebration of Theater

NEW YORK, April 7, 2016 – BroadwayCon, the hugely successful convention and fan-fest for theatregoers and Broadway enthusiasts returns to New York for its second annual convention. The event brings the Broadway community and theater fans together for three unforgettable days of programming, performances and celebrations. The event will once again be presented in partnership with Mischief Management and Playbill.

BroadwayCon will be held Jan. 27-29, 2017 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, with more than 15,000 theater fans expected to attend, triple the amount of its inaugural year, which sold-out at 5,000 attendees. BroadwayCon 2017 features programming with BroadwayCon co-founder Anthony Rapp, Kelli O’Hara, Cynthia Nixon, Christopher Jackson, Christine Ebersole, Santino Fontana, Norm Lewis, Ana Gasteyer, LaChanze, Des McAnuff, Seth Rudetsky, Blake Ross, Jonathan Groff, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Lena Hall, Lisa Howard, Lorin Latarro, Laura Osnes, Lesli Margherita, Alex Brightman, Jenn Colella, Christopher Gattelli, Marc Kudish, Geneva Carr, Beowulf Boritt, Kathleen Marshall, Max von Essen and many more to be announced over the coming months.

BroadwayCon is the first convention of its kind bringing theatre-lovers and theatre-makers together to for a fully-immersive experience in all things Broadway. More than 150 hours of specialty programming will be available to attendees with actors, musicians, dancers, choreographers, directors, producers, writers, journalists and designers hosting myriad performances, panels, workshops, meet-and-greets, sing-alongs, late-night events, cosplay gatherings and more during the course of the three-day event. The BroadwayCon 2017 Marketplace will provide a one-stop-shop for show goods and merchandise, CDs/DVDs, books and limited edition BroadwayCon merchandise. Unlike other fan conventions, all autographs and photo opportunities are free to all attendees with the ticket price covering the entire experience.

Once again, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA).
