Join Nancy Giles, “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent, for a musical, literary and fun evening full of the best of New York’s voices. Nancy will be joined by award winning author of “Forest Dark,” novelist Nicole Krauss, and the funny and decidedly NY singer songwriter Julian Velard. Continuing our serialized novella “Author to Come” will be acclaimed artist and mystery writer Jonathan Santlofer. Flutist Eugenia Zukerman will play. And to explain why we’re obsessed with celebrities, we’ll also have writer Julie Klam, author of “The Stars in our Eyes.” The Brooklyn Seltzer Boys (find out who they are) round out the cast. Jay Leonhart leads the One-Train Band.
“In Your Face-New York” captures the spirit, the energy, the music, noise and creativity of this capital of the world. The show comes to Merkin Concert Hall after sell-out performances at St. Ann’s Warehouse and Symphony Space. It’s a live performance extravaganza and also a video/audio podcast that’s features the best of New York’s actors, writers, musicians and more. Previous episodes have featured Mo Rocca, Judy Kuhn, Sarah Jones, Bob Balaban, “The New Yorker” cartoonist Roz Chast and WNYC’s Brian Lehrer. Music is led by jazz legend Jay Leonhart and the 1-Train Band.
$20 student tickets are available in person with ID.
