Detailed Information:

New York, NY – Squeaky, written and performed by Brad Forenza, will premiere as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival, the world’s largest festival of solo performance, on Sunday September 30, 2018 at 7:30pm at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, NYC).

Squeaky takes place in 2014, at the announced wedding of cult leader Charles Manson and his millennial bride. Squeaky, a disciple of Manson and the would-be assassin of President Gerald Ford, has crashed the anticipated nuptials to stake her claim. As she holds the wedding guests hostage, she opines about the current state of affairs and the unavailable men in her life.

As Forenza notes, “There is nothing endearing about the ‘Manson Family’ or the crimes they perpetrated; however, the ‘Family’ continues to permeate the American psyche. Squeaky is incredibly rich source material, as her story lives at the intersection of politics, popular culture, and a discarded humanity.”

After a preview performance in summer 2017, reviews for Squeaky have been positive:

“In 60 short minutes, I have never loved or hated a character more.” ~Shane Bordeau, Musician (BerryTheBand.com)

“Brad Forenza channels the twisted life and loves of Squeaky Fromme in a fashion so thoughtfully disturbing, so pleasantly manic, you’ll hate yourself for wanting more. What a deliciously evil pleasure of a performance.”  ~Duane Scott Cerny, Best Selling Author (Selling Dead People’s Things)

“Squeaky is a transcendent and thoroughly enjoyable piece of theatre. It goes beyond the story of Squeaky and Manson, providing the audience with a new and unique perspective on the world we all inhabit.” ~Mike Folie, United Solo Award Winner for Three Men (2015, 2016), and the anticipated My Dead Wife (2018)

“I haven’t thought about Squeaky in years, and now I’ll never think about her the same. Brad brings a layered dimension to a sordid figure that I didn’t know existed.” ~Laura Iacometta, Director (1776: The Women’s Congress)

“Why on earth would we care what Squeaky Fromme has to say? Forenza lays her bare from the inside out and there’s something there for all of us— her fury, her misery, her twisted views on love and devotion, her genuinely righteous causes. Squeaky is uncomfortable to look at, but you will not look away; you will let her break your heart.” ~Roberta Lipp, Culture Critic and Blogger (LippSisters.com)
