It's that time of year again. The air is turning cooler, the leaves are beginning to change color and the Broadway community is gearing up for the annual Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction. Join Broadway’s biggest market and biggest stars on Sunday, September 21, 10am-7pm at Shubert Alley and West 44th Street.
This year the showbiz party will feature 60 tables of Broadway glory to browse and buy, including tables from Aladdin, Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, The Book of Mormon, Cabaret, Cinderella, If/Then, The Lion King, Kinky Boots, Les Misérables, Mamma Mia!, Matilda The Musical, Motown: The Musical, Newsies, Once, Pageant: The Musical, The Phantom of the Opera, Pippin, Rock of Ages and Wicked.
The Grand Auction, which includes a series of silent auctions throughout the day culminating in an exciting live auction, features goodies like walk-on appearances in Broadway's shows, lunches with Tony Award winners, and VIP tickets to Broadway opening nights. A new group of silent auction lots will be opened every half hour from 10 am until 3:30 pm; the live auction begins at 5 pm.
Of course there will be the ever-popular autograph table and photo booth hosted by Jim Caruso, where, for your donation to Broadway Cares, you can get an autograph or a picture with your favorite Broadway star. Groups of stars will rotate through each hour between 11 am and 3 pm on the deck of Junior's Restaurant.
Proceeds go to Broadway Cares. Last year, the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction raised $631,222, bringing the event's 27-year total to more than $10.3 million.
