Just last week, Page Six reported that Emma Thompson surprised the cast of "Heathers: The Musical", by showing up to one of their rehearsals. The Oscar winner, who was in rehearsals for the New York Philharmonic's production of "Sweeney Todd", decided to show up in character, as Mrs. Lovett, to deliver "freshly baked meat pies" to the young cast who were using a rehearsal studio below.
Thompson, who proved to be one of the past Oscar season's most consistently entertaining figures, explained that the pies she carried might contain mystery meat, expressing "I don’t think you know anyone that’s in ’em, but you never know!”
