Award-Winning Playwright Monica Bauer's solo show "The Year I Was Gifted" is an intimate look at a year in her life, trying to survive in an elite boarding school for the arts where she met her first gay friend, the late Bill Sherwood. An icon in the gay community for the film "Parting Glances", Sherwood is brought back to life in this play as the two teenagers find their way. It's a "gay-straight" love story that shouldn't be missed.
StageBuddy's Glenn Quentin spoke with the talented playwright in an interview at Stage Left Studios. Find out about the play's journey, its inspiration and its effect on audiences.
