A Story about Gay Men Attempting to get HIV?

J. Julian Christopher's newest play is sure to cause some controversy: entitled "Animals Commit Suicide", it explores the gay subculture of bug-chasing -- actively seeking to contract HIV.

So where did Christopher's idea for "Animals Commit Suicide" come from?  StageBuddy recently had a chance to catch up with this talented playwright to discuss the play -- which was selected for this year's terraNOVA Collective's Groundbreakers, a series of new plays. Christopher is also the author of "Beast: A Parable" (FringeNYC, 2008); "Nico was a Fashion Model" (LAByrinth Theater Company's 2010 Summer Intensive); and "Man Boobs" (workshopped at East LA Rep with a run in NYC at the 2010 The Fresh Fruit Festival).

Watch the video below to learn about Christopher's inspiration for "Animals Commit Suicide" and more.
