Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein will host the 6th Annual Broadway Salutes, Tuesday, September 23 at Anita’s Way, the public space next to the Stephen Sondheim Theater (West 43rd Street, between 6th and Broadway) at 3:30pm.
Broadway Salutes, is a joint presentation by The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds celebrating the contribution of professionals working in the New York City theatrical industry, both on stage and behind the scenes, including those working in wardrobe, makeup, hair, box office, design, choreography, casting, the music department, and more. It also highlights the important 12 billion dollar economic contribution that Broadway makes to New York City annually. The industry supports an estimated 87,000 full-time equivalent jobs and generates $550 million in New York City tax revenue.
The event, which begins at 3:30pm will also feature guest performers, Andy Karl (Rocky), Jarrod Spector (Beautiful), Lindsay Mendez (Wicked) and Adam Heller (Elf).
