We sat down with the cast of the hit off-Broadway phenomenon Heathers the Musical at a recent Barnes and Noble CD signing of their soundtrack, and asked the question on the mind of every true Heathers fan (or “Corn Nut”): “You inherit five million dollars the same day aliens come and say they’re going to blow it up in two days. What do you do?” -- the now infamous question from the 1988 classic indie film that inspired the musical.

We started with the queen of queen bees, Heather Chandler herself, Jessica Keenan Wyann, telling her:  "We'll make it more fun. Answer as yourself, and then as your character, Heather."

She laughed. "Well, Jessica would fly to the southern part of France, get two bottles of red wine and find a private beach somewhere...  No, I'd fly all my friends in, too.  And Heather would just start killing people."

"Does it upset you that your character doesn't get to kill anyone in the show?" we asked.

"No. She gets her revenge in the end." Spoiler alert! Shut up, Heather!

Next I spoke with actors Evan Todd and Jon Eidson, who play Kurt and Ram respectively. It's often joked that the two characters are gay -- after all they do spend more than half the show in their underwear on stage together (which in itself is worth the price of admission) -- so I asked them to pose romantically for a photo. Evan needed no twisting of the arm. Without missing a beat he wrapped himself around his co-star, who was now making a sad, confused, "help me" look on his face.

"Did you just make a face?” Evan asked in an angry, wifely tone. "Come on. That hurts my feelings." Evan then opened his mouth, closed his eyes, and slowly tilted his head. Jon did the same and the two inched closer and closer till the last second when Jon turned away -- which didn't stop Evan from giving him a big kiss on the cheek and nuzzling his head in Jon’s neck. These talented actors clearly have an amazing bromance on and off the stage.

I managed to pull the two apart long enough to ask the five million dollar question separately, starting with Todd: “Please answer as yourself and as your character, Kurt.”  He replied: “I think about this a lot.  I would take all my friends to a private resort on an island and we would just party...  And Kurt would buy some crazy car and just drive with Ram to like...The Playboy mansion.  No, no, we’d buy the Playboy mansion.” His answer and stumbling delivery in train of thought was nothing short of his character Kurt.

As for Jon: “Really? Are you doing a lunchtime poll right now? That’s awesome. Well I, Jon, would get a really fast car like an Aston Martin, because I assume we’re being chased by zombies, right?”

“Sure.”

“Then I’d take all my friends and we’d just drive through the desert, no, Las Vegas, and just have the night of our lives. And Ram would do the exact same thing, only drunk.”
