The summer may be winding down, but the fall theater season is just starting to heat up! Whether you are looking for a fun show for the whole family, a great date night pick, or something to indulge your intellectual and insightful side, there is something for everyone. 1. This Is Our Youth

Previews begin on August 18th and doors officially open on September 11th

This coming of age comedy stars Michael Cera, Kiernan Culkin and Tavi Gevinson. Set in New York circa 1982, this show follows the lives of these three young adults, who have all experienced tough lives at home, as they navigate challenging friendships and seek love. As they prepare for adulthood, the depth of their inner selves are revealed -- making for a thought-provoking and gripping experience relateable to any and all of us who have struggled to come into our own.

2. On The Town

Previews begin September 20th and doors officially open on October 16th

Coming to Broadway this fall, On The Town is the latest revival of this gorgeous, captivating and just plain fun musical. On The Town follows three sailors as they spend a day on leave in New York City, discovering the beauty and excitement that the city has to offer while also searching for love. Classic and entertaining, this show is perfect for the whole family and displays the magic, heart and grandeur that keeps us falling in love with Broadway and New York!

3. It’s Only a Play

Runs August 24, 2014 - January 4th, 2015

Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane take to the stage for this comedy that gives us a behind-the-scenes peek into the world we all know and love: Broadway. A producer, a writer, a director, the actors, and other friends come together and anxiously await the reviews of their new play. 4. Love Letters

Previews begin September 13 and doors open officially on September 18

This romantic and compelling production unites the cream of the crop and stars such iconic talents as Anjelica Huston, Mia Farrow, Carol Burnett, Martin Sheen, and others who each appear in select performances as those making up the letter-writing pair. The audience is taken on a journey of friendship between two people over the course of 50 years, articulated through their letters.

5. Lost Lake

Previews begin on October 21st and doors open on November 11th

Making its debut this fall is David Auburn’s play Lost Lake, directed by David Sullivan. Bringing together John Hawkes and Tracie Thoms, this tale unfolds at the lakehouse that Hawkes character owns, where Thoms' character visits with her children. Soon after arriving, she becomes invested in his life and troubles -- illustrating the power of a chance event and the unpredictability of life’s journey.

6. A Sucker Emcee

Previews begin September 10, opens September 23th

A SUCKER EMCEE by Craig muMs Grant from Labyrinth Theater Company on Vimeo.

Providing a firsthand look at his story, Craig muMS Grant (an actor and poet best known for his role on HBO’s Oz) takes us through his beginnings in the Bronx and shares his struggles and successes. In the form of a true artist, muMS Grant recounts it all through expression, mixing slam poetry, hip-hop and his own reflections -- finding inspirational ways to connect to all parts of the soul.

7. Punk Rock

Previews begin October 29

Coming to the U.S. this fall is the edgy and entertaining show Punk Rock! Originally debuting in the U.K., this production is full of attitude, as a group of teenagers prepare for their A-level mock exams. Teen angst and shenanigans are sure to be on the menu when Punk Rock comes to the MCC Theater at the Lucille Lortel Theatre later this fall!

8. By the Water

Previews begin November 4, opens November 18

A true triumph of theater is drawing from current events to illustrate the strength of humanity. By the Water tells the story of a community in Staten Island starting over after Hurricane Sandy. Coming in November, this modern-day production will absolutely strike a chord with all New Yorkers.

9. Pocatello

Previews begin November 21, opens December 21

With a name like Pocatello, it has to be warm and fuzzy right? This show about the manager of an Italian restaurant chain in Idaho (played by actor T.R. Knight) takes us through his struggles as he longs to old on to the traditional values of family, love and togetherness in an ever-changing, fast-paced world.
