terraNOVA Collective is devoted to nurturing distinct and innovative voices who are doing groundbreaking work in theater.  Now in their 11th season, they stay true to their mission through terraNOVA RX, a program that offers playwrights a workshop production of their plays in development.  With only 40 hours of rehearsal time before an audience is invited in to see them, these productions may still be in their raw forms, but they're a vital, often-overlooked part of the development process.  terraNOVA also produces plays that might not be given a second thought by a mainstream company: this year, for example, includes "Wink" (a play about a housewife, her husband, a psychiatrist, and Wink the cat) and "Animals Commit Suicide" (about a man who is hellbent on catching HIV).

StageBuddy had a chance to chat with Jessi D. Hill (Associate Artistic Director) and two playwrights taking part it its current RX series: Jen Silverman, author of "Wink", and J.
