Michael Cera tries Magic Cactus

Michael Cera tries a Magic Cactus and makes a movie out of it!

Shot in the Chilean desert, the film "Crystal Fairy", directed by Sebastian Silva, is based on a real roadtrip that the director took 12 years ago -- during which he met an American traveler nicknamed "Crystal Fairy" who has since then disappeared.

"I'm not in favor of drugs, I wouldn't have a flag that says take drugs -- maybe a T-shirt I would -- but drugs are like people, they're not all the same; I mean there's bad people and good people," Sebastian Silva says.

Michael Cera admits to trying the real San Pedro cactus: "We tried it on this movie and there was no hallucinogenic effect on me, or on my work."

Sebastian says it was his fault, because he cooked the cactus for too long, but Gabby Hoffmann (who plays Crystal Fairy) took a double dose: "It was like drinking rose wine, but Gabby liked it, she was pretty high..."

Michael continues, "And we haven't spoken to her in months; we don't know quite where she is right now or if she's okay."

Sebastian confesses that maybe after this film he will be able to reunite with the real Crystal Fairy again.
