Big and brash, cabaret performer Bridget Everett is returning to Joe’s Pub in a new show, “Rock Bottom,” which tells of her character’s redemption from alcohol and bad relationships via rescue by an angel’s voice.
Comic pop songs are being penned for the show by “Hairspray” writing due Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, alongside former Beastie Boy musician (and son of playwright Israel Horovitz), Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz.
In a statement about the show, which runs Oct. 31-Nov, 2, Shaiman says, “I have always dreamed of singing like an angel, being proud of my body and dancing onstage wearing nothing but dental floss. Working with Bridget Everett is the closest I'll ever come to fulfilling that dream.”
