APPLY NOW for The BURMAN and WALLOWITCH Songwriting Awards!

MAC-They-Write-The-Songs-LogoMAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs) is currently accepting submissions for the MAC sponsored Dottie Burman and John Wallowitch Songwriting Awards. You do not need to be a MAC member to submit for these awards.

Submissions are open until Oct 15th (anything received after the 15th will not be considered). Judging will take place between Oct 15th and Nov 8th. The three finalists for each award will be notified on Nov 1st. The winners will be announced on Nov 8th.

The winner of each award will have one of his or her submitted songs presented at The MAC Songwriter's Evening “They Write the Songs” on Sunday Nov 16th. People who submit should be prepared to be there that evening to accept the award. The show is hosted by Grammy Award Winning Julie Gold and this year’s featured writer is Amanda Green (High Fidelity). Past featured writers have included Jeff Blumenkrantz (Urban Cowboy) and Flaherty & Ahrens (Rocky & Ragtime). It is a wonderful annual event and you should mark it on your calendar now, regardless of the outcome of the competition.
