3 World-class Ballet Companies on One Stage
July 20-23, 2017.
As part of the Lincoln Center Festival, three of the world’s greatest ballet companies — the Paris Opera Ballet, New York City Ballet, and Bolshoi Ballet — will come together to perform the three acts of George Balanchine’s masterpiece, Jewels. It’s likely a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see them on stage together, and they are sure to wow us with their distinctive styles and crystalline technique.
The imaginative folks at Third Rail have dreamed up yet another successful immersive theatre experience. In Ghost Light, audiences go backstage at Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theatre in a show that “captures the fragility of being haunted by the theatre.”
According to our critic, Pulitzer-winning playwright Paula Vogel’s Indecent, about the censorship of the 1923 Broadway debut of Sholem Asch’s God of Vengeance, is “a testament to the transportive, life-affirming power of theater.” The play just won a Tony for Best Director (Rebecca Taichman) and has been extended to August 6th, so go before it’s gone.
