Best TV Style: Revenge

emily-vancamp-300x400So far, our week of TV fashion has highlighted two older programs: "Gossip Girl" and "Sex and the City".  Today, we feature a show that will soon begin its third season: ABC's soapy drama "Revenge".

The characters on "Revenge" are without a doubt the one percent, and as such are the type who summer in the Hamptons in only the sleekest fashions. In order to achieve this chic elegance, stylist Jill Ohanneson turns to Saks Fifth Avenue: she sorts through their wide range of brands and styles in order to develop a base closet at the beginning of each season, later picking and choosing items to create the fabulous outfits we see on our TV screens. Ohanneson states in a styling special featured as an extra on the Season 2 DVD that she is always on the hunt for "interesting, impactful pieces." Designers featured on the show include not only Jason Wu, Theyskens Theory, Helmet Lang, Dior, and Christian Louboutin, but also the likes of Forever 21 and Anthropologie.

Each of the characters on "Revenge" has her own unique style.  The biggest fashionista of the show, Ashley Davenport, wears outfits with lots of color, embellishments around the neckline, separates, and little more edge than other characters. Sweet Charlotte's clothes have feminine shapes and girlie florals, while lead character Emily dresses in more neutral, polished looks in order to better blend into her surroundings. She always looks drop-dead gorgeous, with her clothes fitting perfectly on her stunning shape: it's no wonder she can so masterfully manipulate and charm those around her, especially when she's dressed to the nines for fancy affairs. Many key scenes take place during these chi-chi parties, so the audience can always expect to enjoy the thrill of seeing the show's stars in gorgeous evening attire. Even the gentlemen are well dressed: they can often be seen in perfectly fitted suits -- but they'll also don preppy, polished looks for more casual scheming situations.

Check out our slideshow of some of the show's best outfits, and be sure to come back tomorrow for our final day of TV Style.
